Affordable Housing Access (AHA) was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in 1999. AHA is dedicated to creating and preserving quality affordable housing for low-and moderate-income families, individuals and seniors. AHA and its developer partners have acquired or rehabilitated more than 20,000 affordable housing apartments and homes throughout the West.
In 1999, AHA created the non-profit organization Project Access (www.project-access.org) to provide support services to residents through on-site programs that inspire and educate the entire family. To date, Project Access has created 37 Family Resource Centers in California alone and offers a range of health, social and educational services to more than 10,000 residents annually.
Project Access is primarily funded by AHA and its developer partners. This sustainable business model, which does not rely on government grants, helps to ensure ongoing services to residents. AHA has provided over $2.5 million in addition to in-kind services of office space, equipment and supplies.
